E.S.L. Summer School
The ESL students will be involved in a variety of academic endeavours including oral language, vocabulary development, reading, writing, and grammar. Once a week students will be given an oral and written test. They will also be required to present a short speech each week on one of the topics studied.
Reading
A variety of fiction and non-fiction material will be read and discussed in reading groups. Students will be grouped together according to their appropriate reading levels, so as to maximize their development. A variety of written responses will be required using:

Writing
Short and long writing activities will be given to the students. Emphasis will be placed on writing interesting content as well as learning how to use the proper conventions of writing.

Conversational Skills
Students will develop their listening and speaking skills as a variety of topics are introduced throughout the program. Short speeches will be presented by the students each week.
Topic and Testing
A variety of mini topics in the areas of history, science, geography and health will be used for vocabulary development. Every Friday, an oral and written test will be administered to the students.
